The challenge

Optimize and further develop a system that has grown over the years with many automations

The initial situation

Adva Optical Networking SE had been using Salesforce for many years and had built many of its own processes as well as integrations. Due to this accumulation of pre-existing logics, new processes must be aligned with them. An extremely good understanding of the Salesforce platform and architecture is essential for this. New processes should be introduced without negatively affecting existing ones. Outdated solutions should also be upgraded to the latest technologies.

Our solution approach

We supported our customer in finding solutions, conception and implementation far beyond the Salesforce standards. The goal of the many implementations is to use the different Salesforce technologies in such a way that low-maintenance and future-oriented solutions could be implemented. This made it possible to automate the workload in different areas (from HR to service) and to bring it onto one platform (Salesforce).

Customer success

The goal of this project was to develop a system to predict demand and determine how much product inventory to produce. Once built, the application will feed real-time data into Salesforce’s built-in forecasting tools so they can make adjustments over different time periods (e.g., day or week). In summary, we have implemented the following:

  • Building a forecasting tool with Tableau and Lightning Web Components
  • Creating an architecture for provisioning and building an application with Lightning Web Components
  • Establishment of an automated analysis and segmentation process for Opportunity
    Products
  • Automation of run rate discounting based on opportunity products and orders from SAP
  • Establishment of an individual sharing logic on account level
  • Migration from
    programmed Salesforce Classic logics on Salesforce Lightning technology (attachments to
    Files)
